Weekly Assignment: "Color," 9 - 15 June
« on: June 08, 2008, 09:12:53 PM »
Rebecca requested a fun assignment for this week, so the theme is "color."  Color should be the primary compositional element in your image, and should be used to convey meaning, set the tone or mood of the image, or evoke an emotional response in the viewer.

Remember that in general, pastels and soft, low contrast scenes impart a peaceful and serene feeling to the viewer.  Saturated primary colors and high contrast impart a bold, stimulating feeling, "high key" (an image composed of all light tonalities) imparts an ethereal, dreaming feeling to the image, and "low key" (all dark tonalities) imparts a foreboding, ominous feeling.  There are many other ways to use color to evoke an emotional response.  Lets play with color and have some fun this week.

Try to make color your PRIMARY compositional element in the image.

Thank you to everyone that participated in the "isolation" weekly assignment.  Don't forget to vote for your favorite images in the "isolation" gallery.
