"HEAT!" Photography Assignment, Extended to 10 July 2011
« on: June 25, 2011, 12:33:38 PM »
The assignment for the week of 27 - June through 10 July 2011 is HEAT!  You should strive to compose an image that conveys the concept of HEAT!

Please upload your submissions into the "HEAT!" album in the Weekly Assignments category of the gallery no-later-than midnight, Mountain time (GMT -07:00) on Sunday, 3 July 2011.

I'll look forward to seeing your images.

I'm pretty sure the weather is going to cooperate for this one, around here anyway.

The forecast is for 106 degrees (41.1 C) on Thursday.  Yikes!

We've already hit 108.  Not my favorite time to be outside!

Please note that I have extended this assignment to 10 July 2011.  I suspect we'll get lots of great images from the long weekend by extending the assignment.  I hope you don't mind.

Thank you! I was having trouble coming up with anything I liked for this assignment -- yes, even living in the desert!!

OK, my challenge for you is to capture an image that shows "heat waves" (atmospheric distortion) coming up off a hot surface.  (You'll have best results with a telephoto lens I think.)  Think you can do it?

That was an idea Clay suggested too. Just have to figure out where and when. But thanks for the challenge!! (I think! :-\)
