Shot 1We went to see the fire ring around the Keeper of the Plains here in Wichita tonight. I did not bring my camera as I was just going to take in the scene. But, when McKenzie befriended baby Claire, I wanted to capture it to show Mac someday. Evan had left his Nikon D100 in the stroller, so I grabbed it. Here's my first fast shot.

New friends of the fireI finally took the time to really set this up and put the flash on 'rear curtain' and set the self timer on the camera to 2 seconds so I could hit the shutter and then steady myself to try my best to hold the camera still. I just lucked out getting a moment when McKenzie looked up at baby Claire's Mom and thus stayed fairly still and I got Claire's eyes too!
