Another Main Attraction This was suppose to be my Original 1st choice to enter but I had lost it in the sea of pictures on my computer and just found it now.So, I thought I would include it under the "warm light assignment" to share even though it can't be included in the voting.I had only cropped this and gave it slight shadow.I put the vase on the maple flooring and looked down for the shot. the kitchen has flouresent lights.

Snow at Schumacher CrossingSnow is a rare sight in the Texas Hill Country, and even rarer is the accumulation of snow. Since classes were canceled for the day, I took the opportunity to get out and photograph the occurrence.

Western Ribbon SnakeWhile I was standing on the banks of the Guadalupe River, I turned to see this Western Ribbon Snake resting on the tops of these Brown Bitterweed wildflowers.

DaisiesThe wind was blowing these flowers around a lot. I had to shoot at a high speed to stop the action, but then had to contend with keeping it in focus as it moved. Got lucky on this one.

Colorful ColoradoI took a long time making this image and shot it 150 times to try to get it right. I was so focused on getting the flags to be backlit that I was not watching and the rock formation went dark on me. Also shooting into the sun, the sky got washed out. Not really as representative of what it looked like as I wanted.

Climbing the Red RocksI was just playing with composition while sitting in the back of the Jeep. I am really impressed with this 100-400L lens. I was amazed when I saw it on my computer. At 100% I could see so much detail in the climber face that if you knew this person, you could definitely tell it was her. I must have been 200 yards away.

Twin FallsI took this on Thursday on the Camp Bird Road on the way to Yankee Boy Basin. This is a very high flow year. I had never seen the right falls before. Still lots of snow around, as you can see. I simply could not help myself and put the two falls on thirds just for Keith.

Maroon CreekWe arrived dutifully before sunrise at Maroon Lake to catch the first light on Pyramid Peak. We were there with literally 200 other photographers! The lake was rough and I could not find a spot I liked without other photographers in the shot. We took a nap in the Jeep, then I hiked up Maroon Creek to get this shot. The clouds came in really fast this day and it was raining an hour later.

Crystal Mill at SunsetTaken the same day as the Maroon Bells image. When we got to the Crystal Mill, lots of photographers were already leaving. A guy with a 4x5 was set up in this spot. Unbelievably, he left just before the sunset lit the clouds and I got the shot he abandoned! The clouds also put a nice warm glow on the rocks below the mill. I did a quick stack of two exposures and I need to repair the ridgeline.

Red DoorThere are not near as many red doors in Taos as there are blue windows. If you look carefully at the top of the door and around the lock, you can see it used to be blue. This door is actually at the lodge we are staying in. Captured it late this afternoon with harsh evening sun to bring out the details of the hand carving.
