Flint Hills - Late WinterThis is just a simple landscape this week. The light was beautiful in the Flint Hills this afternoon so I just wandered along back-roads and open range. Much of the late winter grass is somewhere in zone VI, so I took light readings off of it and adjusted. The lighting of the ground is pretty even in this one. In other the clouds played with the light creating gorgeous sculpturing of the hills. Great way to spend a Saturday.
Spring blossomsI had some fun with this and am starting to get the hang of the settings and how it works on my camera. It's a beautiful day (part of the reason Vegas is a nice place to live), and so I played around with several other colors and subjects which I'm going to try to post in my gallery. Would love some feedback!
Angel Its not an easy assignment but i did my very best (i hope)
Spring FlowersIt's hard to find the pastel colors in Colorado this time of year so I found these flowers in our office for this assignment.
FairyI'm not sure if I properly understood the assignment, but I had fun with it anyways :)
Mardi Gras 2010 (New Orleans)In-camera settings: 14-bit NEF, linear curve, adobe RGB space, AutoWB. Spot-metered facial skin tone to +1.5EV (since Nikon is calibrated to 12.7% gray or 0.5EV darker than 18%). Processed in CaptureNX2 (adjusted to linear curve too; changed AutoWB to Daylight-shade).
Morning WalkI took advantage of our morning walk to take a quick snap of McKenzie's "Zone VI" hat.
Graceful lineGreen is not my favorite color on clothes but I do like this on her. I guess I am looking forward to spring.
