SushiI had a wonderful sushi dinner this evening. I asked the owner/sushi maker for his best looking sushi roll. He seemed to enjoy watching me photograph the sushi, told me all about learning to make sushi, and asked all kinds of questions about the camera. When it was time leave, he wouldn't let me pay for my meal. I will have to send him a picture when I get home.
Miro's "Personnages Oiseaux"I truly believe art just like sport brings the world together. We are blessed to have an incredible collection of sculptures/murals from artists all over the world right here at Wichita State University.
Grace Chapel and Rodin's "La Cathedrale"Well placed sculpture gracing the entrance to Grace Chapel on Wichita State University campus
La CathedraleBeautiful sculpture by Auguste Rodin of France. The elements from this bitterly cold day just make this sculpture all the more powerful.
Tiling the worldFamilies of kids attending Fremont Professional Development Middle School, in the shadow of the Las Vegas Stratosphere, met on Saturdays as part of the Family Writing Project. They wrote about their lives in many languages and created tiles for this mural. It is located on the front of the school, but each year families (new and returning) continue to meet and in the process have helped to create a sense of community in a neighborhood comprised of many cultures and ethnicities.
A Colorful WorldPeople decorated in all colors took a mid-winter dip in support of Special Olympics today in Emporia, Kansas during the Polar Plunge.
