D7000 Video
« on: April 22, 2011, 10:44:13 PM »
Trying out video with the D7000. We're working on a presentation for our business management class. I didn't record in HD because I knew I didn't have enough storage.

The first clip is with the 50mm at f2.8, in light from the window. I didn't think the music in the store was very loud but the camera's mic really picked it up. Oh well. I thought this looked pretty good.

Video 1 10MB

Video 2 is same place different angle with the 18-105 at 18mm f11. I like the look of this but feel it could be even better.

Video 2 23MB

Video 3 is in the Granada Theatre. They wanted the theater in the background so we sat the chairs near the edge of the stage and bounced the spotlights off the big screen. It worked for lighting but it looks kind of odd. The spots really light up their hair too.

Video 3 16MB

The D7000 seems to do well with video.  Do you remember what ISO you were shooting at?

Thanks Chris.  That's good to know.  That's one area where dSLRs seem to have an advantage over dedicated consumer level video recorders.  It will be interesting to see what comes out next with Nikon's pro series.
