Back-lit Columbine

Crested Butte is considered one of the premier locations in North America for photographing alpine wildflowers.  Rebecca and I have photographed and conducted workshops in Crested Butte many times and are familiar with all the best shooting locations.  This workshop was set up by special request for a group of five photo enthusiasts, and we have room for three more photographers on the workshop.

Lupine and Aspen
Kebler Pass Road, Just outside Crested Butte

Participants will meet for introductions and a short orientation on the evening of 23 July, followed by three full days of photography and workshop instruction on the 24th, 25th and 26th.  We will check out of the hotel on the morning of the 27th, spend the morning photographing wildflowers, have our final workshop lunch in Crested Butte, and then travel home.  These 3 ˝ days of shooting and workshop instruction will allow enough time to visit all the “prime” locations for wildflowers around Crested Butte, and plenty of time for individual instruction.

Lupine, Just off Gothic Road

We will also have an opportunity to photograph the beautiful cascades on Waterfall Creek if the workshop participants are interested.

We’ve reserved a block of rooms at the Nordic Inn in Crested Butte for the nights of 23, 24, 25 and 26 July. Their rates of $121 per night (plus tax) for a room with two queen beds are very reasonable, with a great continental breakfast included in the price. You are welcome to make your own lodging reservations if you want; however, staying at the same location will make it much easier to meet for the post-processing and Photoshop tutorials in the evening and for carpooling to the various locations where we will be photographing.

Please let us know if you are interested in the workshop and want us to hold one of the slots for you. The workshop price is $295 per person (lodging not included). The workshop is limited to 8 participants, with only three slots remaining, so please let us know as soon as possible if you are interested.
