The North American Nature Photographers Association (NANPA) is now accepting applications for student scholarships to attend the Nature Photography Summit in Reno, NV from February 16-19, 2010.

The scholarship covers all student expenses while at the Summit, including lodging, meals and the Summit registration fee. Students will attend presentations by some of the worlds top nature photographers, and will be given the opportunity to attend breakout sessions covering all aspects of nature photography. In addition, students will photograph in the field alongside pro photographers and mentors, and will participate in a one-on-one portfolio review by one of the nation’s top picture editors, stock agents or photographers.

The NANPA Summit College Scholarship experience provides many opportunities to interact with professionals in the field of nature photography, and can help aspiring photographers establish the contacts needed for long-term success in the business. Students will also be given the opportunity to explore and apply for a variety of photography internships.

Applicants must be full-time students at a two or four-year college, university or trade school, and be at least 19 years of age by December 31, 2009. The deadline for applications (and required portfolio submissions) is November 9, 2009. More information on the scholarship and the online application form can be accessed at this link: http://nanpa.org/students/app_process_co.php

This is a great opportunity, so please try to encourage any young photographers you know to apply.

I can try to answer any questions you might have.
