Did I mention I have a Canon Power Shot SD 400, 5.0mega pixels....its about to die on me.

About to die because you want a new camera?  Or is there seriously something wrong with it?

Sometimes my screen shows nothing at all when trying to take a picture. Also it seems like it takes forever to shot a picture, it lags.

My baby is named Alani.

Sorry to hear about your camera problems.  Tell Santa that the Canon A series of cameras are a good buy.  We recently helped my Mother-in-Law buy a Canon A720 IS and I was very impressed with the camera.  Digital point-and-shoot cameras have come a long way in the last couple of years.

I think I got my camera about 3 and a half years ago. I bought my son a $100 Kodak last year and I think it takes better pictures than mine.
