The only film camera I would consider spending money on would be one of the "classics." A film camera will be more of a curiosity than something that is useful. I have a Nikormat that my father-in-law gave me. It's a cool camera and I marvel at the engineering prowess it took to design the camera way back then; however, I never use it. It's just too much hassle to buy and process film, and I can do better with digital.
I'd save your money for a dSLR or better lens.
