I'm sure Evan would love to have an excuse to photograph bugs.
I'm thinking about retiring his D100 and letting him graduate to the D3100, so this might be a good opportunity.
(We had fun catching frogs in a little stream on our walk home from school this afternoon.

I think we should give it a try. We don't have many out yet but it will be fun turning over rocks and logs. Let's do it!

We'll formally start up the bugs assignment on April 26th, after the "Three Angles" challenge. However, you can also use anything photographed between now and then. Interesting bugs don't always show up on schedule.
