Title: "Depth," Weekly Photography Assignment for 20 - 26 July 2009
Post by: keithsnell on July 20, 2009, 07:10:55 PM
The assignment for 20 - 26 July 2008 is "Depth."  You should strive to compose your image to convey "depth," meaning "the distance from the top of something to its bottom, from front to back, or from the outside in."  You might want to review the "Linear Perspective" (http://community.spiritofphotography.com/index.php?topic=125.0),  and  "Near, Middle, Far"  (http://community.spiritofphotography.com/index.php?topic=157.0)  assignments for techniques that can help you convey "depth."

You can also chose to compose an image to convey a more conceptual meaning of "depth," such as “the strength of a feeling," "complexity of character or thought," or "richness of a color."  Or better yet, create a composition that combines both the "perspective" and "conceptual" meanings of "depth" for an even more compelling image.

Please upload your images to the "Depth" album in the Weekly Assignments category of the Gallery no-later-than midnight Mountain Time (GMT -07:00) on Sunday, 26 July 2009.

I will look forward to seeing your images.
